Maine State Police blotter – March 22, 2012

Arrests and summons do not constitute findings of guilt. A court of law makes that determination. Anyone with information regarding open cases should contact Troop D of the Maine State Police by calling the Augusta barracks at 1-800-452-4664.

March 12

Trooper James Leonard responded to a bad check complaint at Town Line Video in Warren. Jeffery Dorr, 31, was arrested for negotiating a worthless instrument, according to police reports. Thomaston and Rockland police departments had similar complaints involving Dorr, according to police reports.

Sgt. Patrick Hood stopped Ashley Souza, 21, of Jefferson, in Union for an inspection violation. Investigation revealed Souza’s license was under suspension, according to police reports. She was summoned for the criminal violation.

March 14

Trooper Jeremiah Wesbrock responded to Cushing for a report of a family fight. Dennis Young, 55, was arrested and charged with domestic assault, according to police reports.

March 18

Trooper Wesbrock responded to Cedar Lane in Appleton for a family fight complaint. Evan Ulmer, 25, of Appleton, was charged with criminal mischief and violation of conditional release, according to police reports.

By Stephanie Grinnell

It appeared everyone agreed in the end what is the best course of action to take regarding “the brick school” in Warren during a pubic meeting on March 14 at Warren Community School — tear down the school and retain town ownership of the property.

Rocky start

The meeting began with Moderator Noreen Norton speaking to those in attendance about the goals of the meeting — to discuss three specific topics: goals, priorities and criteria; potential uses/options; and general issues and concerns. Selectman Chairman Wayne Luce defended their presence. (more…)
